So, For my One monthly goal I am going to finally finish this Table Topper. Not sure I would call it a UFO, it is less than a year old. I made this with the intent of learning/practicing some type of scalloped border. I bought one of those fancy border rulers a while ago, so I will finally have a chance to give it a try. My plan is to have this totally completed.
So, my friend Lynn was telling me how she bought some rulers for Ruler work and it was really easy. So, since Lynn always has great ideas, I decided that I needed to give it a try. On the way home from the swim meet on Saturday I stopped by a quilt shop and purchased the Ruler work foot. A ridiculous $125.00. Ugh. Then I purchased a starter set of Westerlee Rulers. I hope to use these rulers to finish the quilting on the table topper before I give it a fancy scalloped border. I am very excited about my rulers and I am hoping It helps me become a more confident quilter.
The Fluffer Nutter Butter quilt for the mystery quilt…..ugh. Not much progress. Dang it
. I think I was supposed to post on Feb 28th, but I was busy hitting
a deer. I have such luck.

Saturday was the final swim meet. Yeah!. I can’t tell you how exciting that is. Swim practice was 4 days a week and then weekend meets, often at least an hour away. The school it was held at, had an awesome Natatorium. Two Pools. However, the most intriguing part was that the school was decorated with quilt designs. Odd but refreshing.
Happy Sewing
Happy Quilting
Kevin and Haley both sick, plumbing issues and a very large chocolate lab who thinks she can sit on me while I try to sew.
I am thinking that when I join all these together, I might use a yellow. Not to sure, but that is where my mind is at right now. To get a view of all these talented ladies hand work, click on the links below.
friend that attends school with my daughter informed her that he wanted a turtle pillow with his turtles name on it for his birthday. Since his sister got a quilt form me on her last birthday, I could not deny his wish. Wurtle was pretty easy to make. He has a pocket under his belly, that is meant for pajamas, but I will likely put candy in it. All in all, I think Wurtle came out pretty good for a turtle. Only took me about 2 hours to complete, including cutting.
When I purchased the fabric, I though it was grey. However, when I received, it was sort of a light green/grey. I had one thing in mind and then had to change gears when I actually got the fabric. So, I went into my stash and decided to use my weird batik. Not sure why I call these my weird batiks, They just struck me as odd, not in a bad way. So, Here is what I started with to get to my block. This block is about 6 1/2 inches square, so I will need quite a few.
So, not tons of progress here…..but some. The Dog Bone dresser runner is at about 38″. i think it will never end and since I need it to be 54″, it may not.
about 24 1/2 half of them completed. I have no idea how many of the I actually need. I thought I was going to get a lot done today at the swim meet, but ended up not even finishing one. Too many distractions. I really need to get more of both my hand projects done.
Yes, that is my Moka wearing an activity monitor. Seemed like a good idea.
