Mystery Quilt Along….AKA the Fluffer Nutter Butter Quilt.
OK, so while I like the Mystery Fabric, I found it weird. Not a bad weird, but a good weird. When I purchased the fabric, I though it was grey. However, when I received, it was sort of a light green/grey. I had one thing in mind and then had to change gears when I actually got the fabric. So, I went into my stash and decided to use my weird batik. Not sure why I call these my weird batiks, They just struck me as odd, not in a bad way. So, Here is what I started with to get to my block. This block is about 6 1/2 inches square, so I will need quite a few.
Hand Quilt Along
So, not tons of progress here…..but some. The Dog Bone dresser runner is at about 38″. i think it will never end and since I need it to be 54″, it may not.
THe hexie flowers are coming along. There are about 24 1/2 half of them completed. I have no idea how many of the I actually need. I thought I was going to get a lot done today at the swim meet, but ended up not even finishing one. Too many distractions. I really need to get more of both my hand projects done.
Happy Sewing
Happy Quilting
encourage the kids to join band…you can get a good deal done at band concerts…or just set fifteen-twenty minute timers a few times a day for a creative break. You’ll be surprised how a little time each day gets you there.

Some days are just like that aren’t they. Maybe take some dog bones to work and do some at lunch? I was always working through my lunch hour, and when I first joined the SAL, that was how I made sure that I took at least some break. Don’t worry you will finish, but maybe it could be a little shorter!😉

Your weird batik fabrics are beautiful 😋 It took me some time to figure out how to use the fluffer nutter fabric because it was a new patten style to me too. It really works in your block! Your hexie flowers are so pretty; slowly but surely as they say!

The hexes really appeal to me–so neat and crisp. And don’t fret about progress–it’s the process that’s important, and having fun!

It will be interesting to see how your “weird” fabrics work together. I love stitching hexies but they get put away until I travel, then I dig them back out. I have double diamonds in progress and originally thought I should make a king size quilt…5 years ago. LOL….the rest of my life I will be stitching them. When I am dead, I hope someone picks up where I left off. I enjoy the process! (Maybe I should switch to a table runner and finish….hmmmm) I love your dog bones and that you are joining the pieces together already! I punch my papers with a Fiskars punch and “trim” 2.5″ scrap squares. I can see how the accuquilt cutter would make cutting the fabric would make it “less messy.

I am so in love with your hexis! I am going to have to try my hand at them some day:). I think some of your MYSTERY fabric would look good in a flower or two as well. I know it looks good with your batiks and pinwheels:)❤️❤️

Two marvelous projects! Yes, hexagons take a lot of time! One of mine dates back to 1980s.
