So, I finished something else. Can’t remember the name of this table runner. I swear it is something with the word “Windows”. As you can see, I am still sticking with small things. So far so good. I am practicing some different quilting techniques.
Interestingly, I have several Bernina sewing machines. I have many attachments that were purchased for me that I have never used. Well, I learned to use two more things. Hurray for me. Only had them about 20 years… I had all kind of ruler attachments for my walking foot. They were very helpful in sewing even lines. I thought the quilting came out very well in this one. Then, I found a box of magnifying glasses that just hook on to the front of my machine. Holy cow. I wonder why I had not investigated this before. It let me see things sooo much better, I kind of feel stupid for not investigating these toys til about 20 years after I got them. Pretty sure my 1st late husband had bought them and he has been gone for 13 years and I know I had all these things before my daughter was born and she is 17. Funny but not funny,
What else have I done?
Shockingly, a project that was many years in the making. Well, not in the making, just thinking about it. My dining room table and chairs is well over 20 years old. The upholstered bottoms have seen better days and have needed to be recovered for years. They truly look like someone has peed on every chair. Well, I have been recovering the seats. I have completed 5 of 6 and my hands are killing me, so the sixth one is going to have to wait a bit. Maybe sometime next week. The hardest part is that each chair had at least 100 staples that has to be removed. My fabric choice is a bit wild, but they look much better, so that will do for now. Ruger is my little photo bomber.
and then there is my situation…
Not much change there. I am still only at 6 mailboxes and have been unable to go on my walks most of the week. I just seem to have an over whelming sense of weakness. Hoping it will get better. Trying to take the long way on anything that I do though. Fingers crossed.

fabric. She got it for her college graduation from …..Georgia Tech. Oh, and yes, I made the Minnie Mouse costume she is wearing. I used to have a photo album of all the quilts I had made way back then, but they were lost in a flood. I should ask her for a photo.
So, What is new? Well, I made myself an ironing station, finally. I love it. There is so much storage. I don’t even have it filled yet (almost). I love it. It is fabulous. A hare but still awesome. I had been looking everywhere for the right storage and found it at IKEA. Each set of drawers cost about $53.00. The top is made out of birch, which I am told can deal with moisture and is very durable. I hope so.
arrow fabric that I was going to use to piece across the bottom. Wrong. Came out totally wonky and looked like a crazy person did it. I think the problem was that it was directional and sewing the fabric on was not as easy as I thought. Ended up finishing the quilting without the back and hand sewing a piece clear across the back along the bottom (light green).
I quilted dog bones into the quilt with my homemade dog bone ruler and put dog fleece
on the back. I like fleece on the back because it is very forgiving. However, I find it much harder for some unknown reason to quilt. My shoulders are killing me after quilting when there is fleece on the back.
binding on by machine entirely. Never did it before. Watched a couple of video’s. For a first time, it is not too bad. I don’t mind the hand binding on the back, but for some things, I think sewing it on is acceptable and I have to tell you that I have never had better looking corners. ever.

actually like it on here, but it’s too late now. I am already committed. It doesn’t look to bad, but I will have a later post on my additional learnings as I continue to figure out ruler work
many reasons). I have one of my little dogs, Snibble, that wants to test them before I am done binding. If I sit down with a quilt on my lap to do binding, she is immedialty underneath it making sure it is adequately warm. So, my quilts are totally dog approved before I do anything with them. When I am done, there is a lot of de-dogging that goes on. I am hoping this stops me from having to do it multiple times.
bag could be stuffed into the diaper bag to hold dirty clothes or anything. I would like to get my sizing a little better. I actually did better on the first one (baby quilt) that the bigger one. I have a couple of others to do and will hopefully get the hang of the sizing. It is really not exaclty one size fits all. They still work, even though the one for the black quilt is a bit large.
