I forced myself to Sew…..

As a norm, I do not have to force myself.  Lately, it seems that I do.  Not because I want to, but because I am so drained, removing my big but from the couch is more that I can actually deal with most times.

I did manager to finish my next block for the fall into a Quilt Along.  It was a really simple block, which I guess is good for me with now.  I feel pretty simple these days.  I used my batik scraps.  I have not yet decided what to do with my sunflower.  Roseanne offered to fix it and Nanette found the problem with the block instructions.  You are all wonderful.

I had someone explain to me that there are circles in life and most people can deal with something in 1 circle.  Problems occur when things are happening in more than one circle.

My professional life circle.  OMG. totally on the crazy train here.

My Personal circle – Good God.  Special-K (his nickname) has gout so bad he can not walk.  And no, we will not go to the doctor.  Daughter Haley has been sick for over a week.  On a plus side Summer swim is over.  That makes me happy.

My Family Circle – My sister seems to be improving.  She actually called me and sounded not to bad. For that I am grateful.

My ME circle – I feel crazy.  I need to do more sewing, that always helps me relax and get my head straight.

Deep breath.

Happy Sewing

Happy Quilting

  1. Anytime Lori I can help just let me know! I am so deeply immersed in my Yoder Lodge that it is like getting up, going to work, eat breakfast, and back to work! I will do an update post soon.

The weather is absolutely horrible today 104 heat index up to 108.

  2. I hope your circles work their way back to a norm that you can deal with. Life can be overwhelming at times. One step at a time. You can only do what you can. I’m sure with your strength you will pull through.

  3. Hi Lori! I have been checking my mail each day, looking for that block from you. The offer still stands, friend. {{Hugs}} Oh, I am so glad to hear your sister is improving. What a blessing that is. And gout is nothing to kid around with. I hope a few of those circles calm down for you soon. Happy Monday! ~smile~ Roseanne

  4. So glad you were able to sew a block, hope it made you smile, because it looks great! Sending prayers your way for strength, excellent rest and a clear head to make good decisions concerning everything whirling around you, and will continue praying for your sister’s healing and recovery. 😘

  5. Thanks for doing the block and posting about it. Glad it fit the need – a little easy – and that it got you sewing again. I don’t know if it will work but my hubby takes tart cherry for gout (in a pill form) but there is liquid too. For those who don’t go to the doctor, it seems a help. Hope that the circles calm down soon for you.

  6. Hello Lori; I read a tad about you on Roseannes Blog. What a wonderful thing to do. I have read a few posts and just want you to know that my Father passed away a short time ago and my whole world seems to be crashing. I understand, to a degree, what you are going through even though both worlds are completely different. Friends are a wonderful strength right now. I will be praying for you!

  7. Sometimes simple is all we can handle. This block looks good, and I would have left the sunflower as it was. That was what made me think I’d done it wrong – the picture that was like this on the pattern. But I think it still looks like a sunflower, either way. It would never bother me one bit to have it like yours.
