Please laugh along with me.
So, I have never done anything on point.
I chose this pattern and used a charm pack that I had.
I dont know where I got this charm pack, but there were many of the same within. So, I thought to myself, I will just make sure that I don’t put them right next to each other.
I carefully assembled the rows. Never once did I think about looking at it as it would lay on the table. NOOOO, I looked at it on point.

Needless to say, you get this dumb looking table runner with lots of the same next to each other. OMG, Duh. Seriously, look at it on the diagonal. Perfect. Bahahahahaha.
Live and learn as the saying goes.
I did not mind doing something on point. just was in the wrong frame of mind when I did it.
I got it now.
And for your viewing pleasure. Our 8.9lb. security guard. Well, actually my daughter’s security guard, Ruger. He truly is larger than life.
Happy Sewing
Happy Quilting

These are the things that make home-sewn quilts unique! 😉

The good thing about an experience like this is that you will never make that mistake again.
Love the colors and fabric! Good job.

Hi Lori,
There’s nothing wrong with having things meet up … just pretend you planned it that way! 🙂

Lori I think it’s pretty and it works for me. I often end up with the same fabrics close to each other in scrappy projects so your runner works for me! 😉

And that is just another example of the beautiful character of handcrafted work. This is Art, there is no wrong. Looks great to me Lori!

It’s hard to ignore your own mistakes. Live and learn.

Ha! Here’s where you say something like, “the cohesiveness of fabric choices in each row evens out the dynamic energy of the on-point setting”. You need to read more artists’ statements 😀

Oh scrap! The marvels of quilting! I am one of those that used to make sure nothing would be too close or meet up for fabric selection. That quilt demon has won too many times. I have come to terms with this and now scrappy quilts are less stressful because I don’t care.
I love how your runner turned out! I see happiness when I look at it. Your quilt journey is beautiful, and it makes me smile you are back in the quilt saddle again!

I like the ‘uniform’ rows — a happy mistake.

I love your security guard 🙂 I am not familiar with this, therefore do not know what “on point” means here but it sounds like you’ve had a good learning experience. I love the tiles and the colour palette of your runner and, if you hadn’t said there was something wrong with it, I would have not known 🙂

I did not even notice when I first looked at the image. I think it looks great! You should just act as if you planned it all that way – no one will know otherwise :-). Cute dog!
