This was going to be my One Monthly goal for August, but I got carried away at the end of July. I just decided to stop being a chicken and just go for it. So I quilted my little batik baby quilt with my little flowers. I am not sure I like the thread I chose, but I am stuck with it now. Since this was a rainbow quilt I chose a rainbow thread. I should have chosen something more pastel. It looks OK, but since it is darker than I would of liked, I can see things I would not have if I had chose a lighter thread.
I quartered this quilt and worked n 1/4th at a time. Made it seem a little less daunting and scary. It went much quicker than I expected, which is why I can’t do it for my one monthly goal project.
I am becoming less scared of the actual process, which is good. I will have to view a few more videos and learn a few more patterns. The quilting on the back doesn’t look too bad. I am not sure what I am going to do with this quilt, but when the right opportunity presents itself I will know what to do with it.
Happy Sewing
Happy Quilting
You are not alone. I am chickening out of putting a binding on a quilt I have just finished. All my other quilts use the backing as binding but I wanted to do a ‘proper’ binding this time. Three weeks later, I am still avoiding it. I am becoming less worried about the bits I have done, too, which shows practice really helps. No idea what to do with the whole box full of my little quilts either.

It is fascinating how many of us fear different parts of the quilting process.

If you are like me, you are zooming in on the parts you don’t like, instead of seeing the whole. In a few months, you will probably look at it and see what an amazing job you did. Good job conquering that fear!

Good for you! I hate quilting my own quilts, but it certainly is less expensive than paying someone to do it! Hope you’ll learn to LOVE it!

Our fears paralyze us and that is why we have so many UFO’s . I love the fabric and the colors. I can’t really see the thread but it blends beautifully . Love this quilt! You’ve inspired me to go back through my ufos and see what fear I can conquer!
