My one monthly Monstrosity (I mean Goal)

So, this monstrosity has been hanging around on my design board for month.  I don’t want to take it off because I don’t want to have to figure it out all over again.  With all my personal drama, it has just sat there annoying me, ridiculing me.  I have been sewing, just not on this project.  I need to finish the top so I can get it off my design board.  God knows there are a zillion other started projects awaiting their turn to be ignored.

I have not participated in the One Monthly Goal in a couple of months.  Too much going on.  Now that I am unemployed, there is no reason I can not finish this.

Happy Sewing

Happy Quilting

  1. No fun when the fabric just won’t stay on the design board – and after all the work to get the placement right! Looks like it will be a pretty quilt! Glad to see you are going to make some progress on this. You have a new year coming! Look forward to 1 January 2019. There just may be a great turn in the road for you!

  2. Hi Lori! I’m sorry, but that design wall kind of reminds me of where you are in your life. Some of the squares are just barely hanging on, and I think some days are like that for you. {{Hugs}} I hope you get this project all wrapped up quickly. It looks like the first four rows are together! I can certainly see why you don’t want to have to figure out the layout again. I wish you luck to get this one off the wall. I think the fabrics you chose are beautiful as is the design. Then start on a project you love and will really enjoy working on – you deserve it!! Happy Happy Thursday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. That will be one gorgeous finish! If you are like me, there may be quite a few memories attached to this one that will prevent it from rising to the level of “fave quilt”….but, the “finish” will do much to buoy spirits. Sending hugs…………..

  4. Lori — we need to start a support group where we trade off monstrosities — I have a few laying about that I’d happily send off to someone else who could love them…I’d take that gorgeous blue number of yours in trade any day!

  5. Your “monstrosity” is beautiful. It does seem to match your life at the moment….the colors are dark, but can be made into something beautiful. It reminds me of how God can stitch our dark and messy lives into something exquisite. The fire you have gone through this year is refining you into purest gold. I don’t know why, but I am certain the experiences you have had will allow you to be a beacon of hope for someone you are yet to meet. Thinking of you daily, and lifting you up! XXOO

I laughed out loud when I read that. Thank you.
My suggestion? Bite the bullet and finish it. You will feel great when you can gold it out of the way until you feel ready to quilt it – and it won’t be there goading you.
