I definitely bit of more than I could deal with.. HQAL and Mystery Quilt Along.

HAPPY EASTER!

Hand Quilt Along

Yep, that is all I got done this past month for the Hand Quilt Along.  Ugh.  It has been a rough month at the Brewer House, but I think things are looking up.  I do most of y hand sewing at swim practice and winter swim has officially ended.  We will now start swimming clinics until Summer Swim starts.  I also, did not have my vehicle for three weeks and half the contents of my hand sewing bag had spilled out without my knowledge.  So, I was missing a bunch of stuff.  So, to see all the wonderful hand quilting progress from people who actually got something accomplished, please visit the following:

Margaret, Kerry, Emma, Tracy, Deb, Connie, Susan Jessisca,  SherryNanette, Sassy, Edith, Sharon, Deborah and Bella.

Mystery Quilt Along

Well, I have not gotten much accomplished.  I have three blocks finished and a pile of cupcake papers sewn, but that is as far as I have gotten.  I do love the cupcake papers.  They work so well on charm squares.  PLease make sure to take the time to review all the other participants in the Mystery quilt along.  I am sure they are not nearly the slacker I am.

  1. No worries, Lori, we all have times when crafting just doesn’t happen! Hexies are a long term project, so we will look forward to seeing more of them and the dog bone dresser scarf in the future. I really like that mystery QAL block you decided on, and I’m glad to hear a bit of a review on those papers from someone who has used them. Hoping life gets a little duller at your house this month!

  2. Unfortunately, sometimes life just gets in the way of our passion for quilting. It’s great that you are using those extra minutes of downtime during swim to stitch. I’m sure people who usually look at their phones are looking at you oddly. lol Hey, a thought…Should the light side of the HST be pointing outward vs. inward? Then when sewn together the light HSTs will form their own square in the center of the pinwheels. Since it’s a Mystery Quilt, there’s no way to know but it’s just a thought. Anyway, happy stitching!

  3. Hi Lori,
I have never heard of cupcake papers!! What a fabulous idea – just a smaller version of the cake mixes or whatever they’re called for 10″ blocks. I love the fabrics you are using for your hexies – very cute. We can all certainly understand how life sometimes does not work with our quilting goals. Oh well – no harm, no foul. We can certainly see the mystery fabric in your finished blocks, and they look great. ~smile~ Roseanne

  4. Sometimes life happens whilst we are making plans!! You did make some progress…even one is better than none and is one less that still need to be done! I’m a snail with this hand stuff too! One stitch at a time!!
