One Monthly Goal Finish

Seriously, how can January be over?  As I get older, I do not understand how time passes so quickly.  I feel like the holidays were last week.

I actually completed my One Monthly Goal. Not only did I complete, but I did a “New” (new for me), all over FMQ design.  I guess I can call it the “Linangle” design (lines and Angles).  It is not perfect, but it is not that bad either.  The only major weirdness is the binding.  I did not have enough fabric to do all one color,m so I used what I had.  Looks a little wonky because of it.

Now I am going to have to come up with a new one monthly goal for February.  Likely to be more quilting.  I am working on a secret piecing project.  More on that later.

I don’t have any plans for this quilt yet.  Will likely just store until the right time comes along for me to give it away or donate to charity.

I really enjoy the “One Monthly Goal”.  It is a strong motivator for me to get things done.  I can not say I am going to do something and then not do it.

Happy Sewing

Happy Quilting

  1. Well done Lori! Maybe you should make doing a portion of the piecing for the dog bone dresser scarf a goal one of these months? Would that give you a boost or make it harder to work on? I don’t think the binding looks wonky, just scrappy. 😍

  2. Hi Lori,
Great job on the finish and the quilting. I agree with everyone else – the binding looks just fine. It’s not like you threw in some red or a weird color – the fabrics all match. I agree about the OMG being a good motivator – now to figure out what to do in February! ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. I love your scrappy binding! It looks perfect. Isn’t it nice to meet your goal? I congratulate you ~!!~ I tried to play along with OMG, but I kept failing to post the finish on the blog during the specified time. So, I gave up. I’ve been pondering my cupboard full of UFO’s. I’m chipping away one or 2 !

  4. Looking great Lori – especially the different quilting pattern! Good for you – I may meet my goal, but probably a little short – Goals are so important, without them I feel we flounder and delay getting things completed! (ha look who is talking – someone who is 3 years behind on everything!!!)
    Hugs

  5. Excellent! A lovely finish before the first month of the year is over! I’m finding the One Monthly Goal a good motivator and I’ve been trying out some different quilting designs too 🙂
