So, last night as I was practicing my quilting, I decided to get crazy and try pebbling. I was pleasantly surprised that this did not look too bad. It seemed to be very forgiving. I am usually so chicken to venture outside the box (The box of meandering) that everything looks the same to me.
A couple things that I realized. First, I practiced drawing these pebbles on paper. You should see my notebook at work. Oh, wait, you can. Duh. While I am sitting in meetings, I am often drawing (practicing) my quilting designs, sometimes I am doing it on my Surface computer. Funny thing, I feel my drawing often looks better than my quilting (Someone actually asked me if they could have my swirls doodle once). But it helps get the flow down for me.
I think I need to watch more Leah Day videos and get crazy with another design.
Happy Sewing
Happy Quilting
Yours looks better than my quilting practice pebbles last night…. Way to go! Keep it up!

I think they actually recommend doodling on paper before you do it by machine so good job 🙂
Have you ever taken any Craftsy classes on machine quilting? I took one by Leah Day and it so informative ( I know the classes can be a bit pricey sometimes, but I have noticed that if you put it on your “wish list”, it miraculously goes on sale soon after 🙂 )

Looks great! I’ve found that the larger pebbles are easier for me than tiny ones.

I do the same thing in meetings! I just need to actually practice at the machine more!

You did! Congratulations, it looks terrific to me. I always practiced my freehand designs on paper before I did them on the longarm. Some people use Etch-a-Sketch the same way, but I liked pencil and paper. =) I keep them in a composition book – the kind with a spotty black and white cardboard cover – you can find them everywhere school supplies are sold. A nice friend made a cute little fabric cover with ribbon ties for me. =)
